Metered PDUs

Tripp Lite’s line of metered PDUs consists of eight different models featuring digital load meters to display the total current drawn by connected equipment. Four models include dual power inputs with ATS functionality, and two models add IP-based remote monitoring and control to provide remote reboot and user-defined load ramping and shedding. The entire line of metered PDUs supports 19" rack, wall, raceway, workbench and under-counter installation. The devices offer between 15 and 20 amps, and feature from eight to 32 outlets.

NAS system for SMBs

The IBM System Storage N5600 can support up to 252 TB and includes built-in support for RAID 6, snapshot backups, thin provisioning and connection to Fibre Channel or 10-Gigabit Ethernet Internet SCSI (iSCSI) networks. It can use either one or two PCI Express-enabled 64-bit controllers. To address the security and confidentiality of data, the N5600 system supports security features including authentication, access controls, access restrictions, transmission encryption and audit logs. The 19" rack-mount enclosure accommodates four full-duplex 10/100/1000BASE-T Ethernet ports, four FC ports, diagnostic LED/LCD, redundant hot-plug integrated cooling fans and auto-ranging power supplies.

Redundancy switches

With up to three A/B switches, the K-3 Redundancy Switching System addresses the need for high-availability, fault-tolerant communications for remote sites and distributed systems. The K-3s provide physical layer switchover of communications circuits for line protection and equipment redundancy applications. The K-3 series is designed for smaller sites and applications such as redundant computer telephony, T-1/T-3 protection switching, and red/black encryption switching. The K-3 is available in a high-density 1U rack-mount chassis and can be controlled via Web, Telnet and SNMP. The K-3 chassis provides for one internal A/C or D/C power supply, with the option for dual redundant power via an external supply.

Ethernet managed switches

Suited for industrial applications where space is limited, Slim Line Industrial Ethernet managed switches are available in five-port (SL-5MS) and eight-port (SL-8MS) models with up to two fiber-optic ports. Both switches support all standard IEEE 802.3 protocols and offer real-time secure performance through RSTP for redundancy, SNMP for network management, VLAN for network segregation and IGMP for multicast filtering. Other features include rugged circuitry, redundant power inputs, and surge and spike protection.

Reduced-sized cable

The CopperTen Augmented Category 6 UTP Cable has an average outside diameter of .275” compared to the industry average of .310”. Designed to run 10-Gigabit Ethernet over 100 meters of copper cabling, the smaller cable provides for improved fill rates in cable trays, conduits and raceways. The cable’s offset filler minimizes alien crosstalk and insertion loss to meet the performance requirements of IEEE 802.3an and TIA 568-B.2-10 draft standards.

USB extender

The USB X-TENDER is designed to extend USB 2.0 interface hub signals up to 500 meters over standard duplex multimode fiber. The fiber-optic extender supports USB 2.0 peripherals as well as USB 1.1 devices. Comprised of two compact units, the transmitter connects to the host computer with a standard USB cable and the receiver provides four ports for connection of peripheral devices. Installation is plug and play, and LEDs provide link performance status at a glance.

Network monitor/analyzer

ClearSight Analyzer 6.0 evaluates live network traffic and presents a real-time assessment of network performance to enable network administrators to identify and resolve problems quickly. The Triple-Play usage report provides a graphic view of the usage of IP phone, video-streaming and data applications on the network, and provides a ladder display of the communication sequences, call reports, alarms and packet decode function. The software solution can also replay audio and video content transferred over RTP packets.

File transfer tool

To transfer files from one computer to another, connect one end of The Tornado to each PC at a USB port, and the device launches a split screen showing the file contents of both PCs, allowing files to be moved between the PCs with drag-and-drop simplicity. Files transfer at speeds up to 25 Mbps. The device is Windows compatible, plug and play–no software to install–and has four feet of retractable cable.

Fax management

FaxCore SharePoint Connector adds fax-management capabilities to Microsoft’s SharePoint Portal Server using OCR to make faxes text-searchable and enable fax indexing. Administrators can set up document libraries so only authorized users can edit, download or delete faxes, while SharePoint creates an audit trail to track all changes.

Blade server

The Sun Blade X8420 server module is designed to run resource-intensive business and technical applications and can be managed just like rackmount servers. The blade system is powered by four-socket, dual-core, 2.8-GHz AMD Opteron 8000 processors. The module has externally accessible, hot-pluggable I/O adapters and PCIe ExpressModules, which support Gigabit Ethernet, Fibre Channel and InfiniBand technologies. The X8420 plugs into the Sun Blade 8000 or 8000P chassis, which can accommodate as many as 10 four-processor blades.
