WLAN monitoring
The
Firefly is an 802.11 Wi-Fi analyzer that helps IT managers
maintain network throughput and security by recognizing and identifying
abnormalities in 801.11 a/b and Bluetooth network traffic. The
solution’s software creates relational databases of information about a
wireless network of remotely configurable Fireflies, with each
containing up to 10 calibrated receiver modules. WLAN parameters
collected include MAC, SSID, RSSI, PER and WEP, as well as failed
authentication attempts and channel usage. Optional motorized
direction-finding antenna rotate to scan all channels and/or resets on
one channel to remotely survey and protect a WLAN’s perimeter. Database
results are available remotely through the Internet.

Optical Ethernet connectivity
ConnectPoint
Campus is a 100-Mbps, fiberless optical Ethernet transceiver that
uses a laser to communicate packet data and extend the LAN
infrastructure. The units self-align and start transmitting and
receiving data within seconds. The solution offers Fast Ethernet speeds
over a 40-m to 70-m range. Available with ceiling-, wall-, corner- or
pole-mounting options, the units can be placed indoors or outdoors. The
optical transmission solution provides a convenient backup to wired
connections and can be used to quickly connect temporary sites.

Wireless video transmission
WiJET.Video is a high-speed wireless multimedia adapter for
enterprise and presentation applications. By connecting the wireless
projector and display adapter to a video projector, LCD, plasma screen
or other display unit, users can wirelessly transmit full motion video,
animated rich media and wide bandwidth presentations from their laptop,
desktop or mobile computing device. With built-in video conversion, the
unit is able to connect to a standard VGA port, as well as to component
video, S-video and composite video ports. In addition, the product
supports stereo audio. The adapter utilizes the IEEE 802.11g standard
operating in the 2.4-GHz frequency range, with data transfer rates of up
to 54 Mbps.

Outdoor wireless bridge
Providing
a 10-Mbps link between two or more locations, the BridgeLINK-Pro
is a wireless outdoor bridge that delivers low-cost Ethernet
connectivity in a watertight, easily installed enclosure. Used in place
of modems, ISDN, DSL, or T-1 lines, the unit connects structures that
are up to one mile (1.6 km) apart and eliminates the high costs of
trenching or the recurring costs of telecommunication companies. By
using the Category 5 cable for power, as well as data, the product
reduces the complexity of installation, affords greater flexibility in
locating the unit and reduces installation costs. It includes Telnet and
HTTP configuration and management utilities that provide easy access to
tools to control, manage and optimize the network.

Extend indoor coverage
The
SpotCell 163 and SpotCell 263 adaptive repeaters support
the Motorola-developed Integrated Digital Enhanced Network (iDEN), a
digital phone technology that combines the capabilities of a digital
cellular phone with two-way radio, paging and data/fax in a single
network. The repeaters are part of the company’s solutions that provide
in-building coverage up to 100,000 square feet, eliminating coverage
trouble spots.

Outdoor access point
The
AirPremier DWL-2700AP is a rugged outdoor 802.11g access point
(AP) that delivers point-to-point and multipoint connectivity up to 600
m. With management capability, the unit complies with 802.1x user-based
authentication and supports WPA, AES encryption, as well as the upcoming
802.11i security standard. The access point is enclosed in a watertight
die-cast housing with built-in heater and lightning protection to shield
against tough weather conditions. Four operational modes allow the unit
to operate as an access point, wireless repeater, AP-to-AP bridge, and
as a point-to-multipoint bridging for wirelessly connecting multiple
networks. The solution supports IEEE 802.3af power over Ethernet (PoE),
and includes a Web-based user interface and Telnet configuration
options. Included network-management software uses SNMP v.3 and supports
access control lists to allow real-time network traffic monitoring.

Cordless modem
The
Cordless 56K Modem with Bluetooth wireless technology allows
users the freedom and mobility to access the Internet or e-mail through
a telephone from any Bluetooth-enabled device that supports a dial-up
networking profile, including Pocket PCs, Windows notebooks, and Palm
devices–without having to be tethered to an analog phone line and
electrical outlet. The cordless modem comes with a rechargeable,
removable Lithium-ion battery that supplies a minimum of three hours of
use. It uses an internal antenna and is a class 1, Bluetooth
1.1-compliant device providing 330 feet of wireless freedom. The modem
is also V.92 hardware ready, giving users the option to add call
waiting, get online quicker and download files faster.
