Network access control
To address regulatory compliance,
Juniper’s Unified Access Control
(UAC) version 2.1 delivers
access control, visibility and monitoring of
applications and users. UAC 2.1 helps
mitigate the risks associated with exposing
corporate assets with coordinated threat
control, an identity-enabled profiler,
unmanageable device support and advanced
security assessment. The solution extends
support for the most popular enterprise
computing platforms with a Layer 2/Layer 3
UAC agent for the Microsoft Windows Vista
platform.—Juniper Networks

Wi-Fi access control
To control guest access to wireless
networks, SmartPass
software allows administrators to restrict
Wi-Fi network access by time of day, day of
week and range of dates, as well as
implement controls over bandwidth usage,
quality of service, network resource access
and security levels. Access privileges and
restrictions can be applied on a
user-by-user basis, or profiles can be
created and applied to different types of
guest users. The solution uses a centralized
guest account database, and provides
centralized reporting and logging of guest
access, handling up to 10,000 guests.—Trapeze
