VoIP security audits

VoIPaudit is a vulnerability-assessment solution built specifically for voice over IP, allowing organizations to automatically identify and eliminate possible VoIP-specific attacks before they impact IP telephone services. The system is based on a continuously updated threats database and eliminates the need for time-consuming manual scans. Automated, intelligent scanning includes all VoIP-specific devices and applications, and related components such as directory servers, routers, firewalls and the underlying operating system. The solution also provides multivendor support for VoIP protocols, including SIP, H323, Cisco Skinny, Nortel Unistim and other proprietary protocols. The product scales to large national or international deployments and is priced based on the size of the voice network.

IP telephony platform

ShoreTel 6 is the sixth generation of the company’s distributed IP PBX voice solution. An Office Anywhere feature supports mobile users irrespective of their location and the device they are using at the moment. An employee’s work identity and profile can be put on any device, including cell phones and PDAs, which eliminates the need for multiple phone numbers and voice mail accounts. The solution features integrated software distribution, media encryption, on-net dialing and increased support of international operations. Software distribution has been simplified through integration with active directory group policies, allowing administrators to push new installations and upgrades of the desktop Call Manager software throughout the enterprise. Additionally, ShoreTel 6 supports SIP-based Wi-Fi phones, and has a native SIP interface that can support a variety of third-party applications.

Headset adapter

The DA40 is a USB-to-headset adapter that enables enterprises to quickly optimize existing headsets for use with softphones. The device allows companies that have recently migrated to a VoIP infrastructure and now utilize softphones to continue to use their professional series Plantronics headsets. The unit’s compact size takes up minimal desk space. For business-critical softphone applications in contact centers, the DA60 and DA55 USB-to-headset adapters offer additional software and audio controls, including digital signal processing technology for crisp, clear sound.

Media server

The V2fone SV3000 Enterprise Server is a media server, proxy server and MCU server designed to support up to 1,000 users. A super compression codec achieves more than four times the compression of MPEG4 for efficient transmission, while maintaining near DVD-class video with less latency. The signal is compressed enough to work through a 56K modem or DSL, while allowing no visible disruption with voice packet losses up to 40% and video packet losses up to 30%. Protocol capabilities also allow V2fone to be invisible to any firewall currently on the market. Also available to work with the server is a software client and a desktop video phone with a 7” display.

Backup IP PBX capabilities

The MultiVOIP SS SIP Survivability Server provides the basic features of a centralized IP telephony system to remote locations during IP network (i.e., WAN) failures, and also provides gateway functionality by bridging the public switched telephone network to the IP network by connecting up to eight analog trunks. The system will also connect to analog phone and fax machines. When a remote office loses communications with its main IP telephony server, remote office IP phones can register with the MultiVOIP server, be it local or remote, via a different IP network, and have some level of operability.

Industrial cordless phone

Providing premise wireless phones off the analog port of a PBX, the DuraFon industrial cordless phone offers durability and coverage with various levels of phone system functionality. The phone features a durable, rubber housing; a broadcast two-way radio; single-line and multiline access; and a large coverage area for large warehouses (up to 250,000 square feet), retail stores and outdoor facilities (up to 3,000 acres of open area). The two-way radio function can contact just one person or broadcast a message like a traditional radio system to all or a specific group of users, eliminating the need for users to carry a separate two-way radio unit. Distribution centers with multiple workgroups and managers can be configured to share lines and contact each other by groups.
