Application management
The
Converged Compression Appliance (CCA) is an application-aware
acceleration device that provides selective compression to enable
applications like VoIP, which are already pre-compressed, to achieve optimal
performance and efficiency. The CCA can reduce monthly bandwidth costs by
50% or more, while improving compression efficiency by as much as 60% over
previously existing solutions. Designed for ease-of-integration into small,
medium and large enterprise locations, the CCA also provides auto-discovery,
monitoring and reporting for more than 1,400 applications. The appliance is
available in four different WAN speed capacities, from 512 Kbps for small
and remote offices to 100 Mbps for data centers.

Accurate documentation
First identify what is on the network and then safeguard and monitor it with
LANsurveyor version 9.5 for Windows. The solution provides
administrators with detailed network-documentation, asset-management,
network-monitoring and vulnerability-management capabilities. Improved
features include better network diagrams, new discovery methods, improved
Microsoft Office Visio exports, support for Microsoft Baseline Security
Analyzer 2.0, and new Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Desktop Engine
(MSDE) support. Users can create more complete and accurate network
inventories–reducing errors and making strict audits easier to pass.
Up-to-date asset reports can be created easily because LANsurveyor supports
a repository to collect information on a regular basis from workstations and
servers running an optional client software, and stores the data in a
database.

Keep SIP secure
SIPassure 2.0 is a turn-key platform that provides end-to-end
network and application-layer security for VoIP, instant messaging,
videoconferencing and other SIP-based applications. The solution provides an
added layer of security for SIP proxy servers, IP-PBXs, and real-time
communications systems from market leaders and open-source vendors. The
secure-edge proxy offers standard features such as NAT traversal, topology
hiding, session management and traditional firewall protection, as well as
enhanced functionality to protect against SIP-based attacks. Designed to
co-exist with session border controllers and traditional perimeter
firewalls, it secures not only the application and media servers, but also
all users and SIP endpoints.

Simple, intelligent switching
The
EZ Switch 10/100/1000 Gigabit smart switches, in 16- and
24-port configurations (SMCGS16-Smart and SMCGS24-Smart), bring the speed of
gigabit copper connectivity to the desktop, with key management features and
the ease of Web-based configuration. The switches deliver gigabit copper
connectivity with 16 or 24 auto-MDIX ports backed by an 8K MAC address table
to ensure support for large networks. The switches are 1U high and suitable
for desktop or rack-mounting. Features include advanced IP Port/DSCP or
802.1p-based QoS with rate limiting; WRR; VLAN tagging; broadcast storm
control; port trunking; port mirroring; dual firmware images; and Web
management security. An easy-to-use Web interface enables users to configure
the switches, and view network activity and statistics.

Exchange server backup
The
Application Continuity Appliance (ACA) for Microsoft Exchange
delivers instant-on failover and failback in the event of planned or
unplanned downtime of a Microsoft Exchange server. With a simple 10-minute
installation using the Web-based interface, the ACA installs non-intrusive
software agents on the Exchange server. No modifications are required on the
Exchange, Active Directory or DNS infrastructure. The ACA maintains an
ongoing object-level backup of the Exchange mail store, assuring that
database corruption is never replicated. The appliance’s antivirus systems
are also monitored and securely updated. The appliance can be deployed
equally effectively at headquarters or at branch offices to guarantee
uptime.

WAN acceleration
Designed for distributed enterprises, the WX platforms
integrate all the elements required to optimize application performance,
improve application response times, maximize WAN investments, and control
and prioritize key applications. The solution improves application
performance over the WAN by eliminating redundant transmissions,
accelerating TCP and application-specific protocols, prioritizing and
allocating access to bandwidth, and ensuring high availability at sites with
multiple WAN links. The units communicate constantly to provide distributed
stateful intelligence about the entire network, exchanging vital information
such as topology, reachability and path-performance metrics. The platforms
provide compressed output ranging from 64 Kbps to 155 Mbps and support two
to 2,000 remote sites each. Multiple communities of WX platforms can be
configured to support an unlimited number of locations.
