IBM Helps Accelerate AI with Fast New Data Platform
IBM has unveiled a new data science and machine learning platform to help accelerate AI journeys.
Powered by a fast in-memory database that can ingest and analyze massive amounts of data -- one million events per second -- IBM's new Cloud Private for Data is an integrated data science, data engineering and app building platform.
Designed to help companies uncover previously unobtainable insights from their data, the platform is also designed to enable users to build and exploit event-driven applications capable of analyzing the torrents of data from things like IoT sensors, online commerce, mobile devices, and more.
New Industrial Router Offers 4G Cellular Technology
KEB America, Inc. has released the latest version of the C6 Router, now with 4G cellular technology.
The C6 Router M1 and M2 cellular versions can now remotely connect using 4G GSM networks. They are reliable tools for secure, remote PLC maintenance and commissioning with data logging capabilities, especially in hard-to-reach locations. Logged data can be easily pushed to cloud-based services, and from there machine builders and systems integrators can perform analytics, create dashboards, and measure critical KPIs, without making costly or potentially dangerous trips to an installation site.
Modular Data Center Enables Easy IoT Implementation
Rittal has introduced its Edge Data Center: an end-to-end product with standardized, preconfigured IT infrastructure.
"With edge data centers, IT environments can be implemented quickly and easily to meet the challenges of IoT," explains Andreas Keiger, Executive Vice President Global BU IT infrastructure, at Rittal. "Combined with the as-a-service offering that we provide jointly with iNNOVO Cloud, the Rittal Edge Data Center is a one-stop, ready-to-use solution for every IoT scenario."
The system can be gradually extended by two racks at a time. Moreover, this modular approach gives customers numerous expansion options for special applications.
